Details For The Gamesmen, Episode 15 LIVE 10/10/2009

Are you ready to experience The Gamesmen… LIVE? We have quite a show planned for you and it is set for Saturday, October 10th at 7:00 PM EST. Here’s what you can expect:

  • An opening segment with The Gamesmen in person and via Skype
  • We play RPG that will feature Xcalybr turning the tables and putting Lyfeliek on the spot
  • We will take one LIVE Skype call for each Random Encounter and Boss Battle
  • All post-production sounds will be mixed on-the-fly
  • Lyfeliek will announce the secret project he’s been working on
  • More giveaways than ever($20 PSN Card, Uncharted 2 Skin Codes, $10 gog.com game of your choice, and a surprise giveaway for the secret announcement)
  • LIVE #TheGamesmenCheck submissions from you
  • Xcalybr promises Xbox 360 coverage
  • Possibly an “afterparty” where we will attempt to create “The Gamesmen Community Video Game” from YOUR input

Here is the information you need to prepare in witnessing The Gamesmen LIVE if on the PC:

  • Go to www.ustream.tv and create an account.
  • Follow the registration instructions and make sure to test logging in.
  • Broadcast channel will be ustream.tv/channel/jsslifelike.
  • Go to www.skype.com and download the newest client.
  • Next, create an account and add ‘jsslifelike’ to your contacts.
  • If you plan to call in, please use headphones of some sort and be sure to mute your Ustream broadcast.

If you are planning to watch via the PlayStation Network:

  • Add PSN ID ‘jsslifelike’ with the message ‘live show’ to your friends list.
  • Arrive early as there is only 5 additional slots in the room other than the host.
  • Sit back and relax.
  • If you have a PS3EYE, make sure to connect it so we can see you as well!

Crystal Bearers Looking GOOD At TGS

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bears could possibly be shaping up to be an epic third-party experience on Nintendo’s Wii. As you will see in the video posted above, very high production value and clean visuals are prevalent in the title. While not being sure of most mechanics contained within, Crystal Bearers seems to be a mash-up of certain staples of the Final Fantasy series, but being tied together in 3D Zelda-style sandbox gameplay. Even if the game seems a bit unorthodox for the mythos, Marlboro, Cactuar, and Chocobos are present and that should be sufficient for fans.

PS2, Dreamcast Titles Coming to PSN?

According to a Sega document, PlayStation 2 and Dreamcast titles are coming to the PlayStation 3.

“Marked as confidential, the Sega document–which contains notes derived from a meeting with SCEA on August 5th–clearly states that Sony wants to sell ALL PlayStation 2 games on the PlayStation Network including Grand Theft Auto Vice City, older Sonic titles and more. There’s also mention that Sega plans to advertise on television in the same manner as EA Madden and NCAA spots by incorporating the PlayStation 3 controller (for co-marketing money).”

“In addition to the PlayStation 2 emulator, the Sega document also reveals that Dreamcast games are on the way to the PlayStation Network as well. “If we provide a list of DC titles, SCEA will let us know which ones they’re interested in having exclusively,” Sega reports. “If we give them a long period of exclusivity, they’ll give us more marketing support.” This may also mean that Dreamcast games could also make their way onto Xbox Live, with Microsoft snagging a few “exclusive” titles of its own.”

“The Sega document also reveals that Sony plans to launch the motion controller March 2010 in Japan, followed by a Spring release here in 2010; the bundle and pricing details were estimated to appear on September 1. SCEA will provide Sega with a list of IPs that the company expect to work well with the new technology including Virtua Tennis and London Olympics.”

AMD Confirms Six-core CPUs

IDF kicks off today and while Intel is was busy getting ready for the party, AMD has stepped in and snatched just a smidgen of the limelight by announcing that it is readying a hexa-core processor aimed at consumer desktops.

The chip, codenamed Thubon, is set for release sometime next year and according to Maximum PC, it will be backwards compatible with existing AM3 and AM2+ motherboards. Maximum PC cites AMD officials who Monday said that the heavily rumored Thurbon was “a done deal.”

Thurbon will feature all six cores on a single 45nm die, feature an integrated DDR3 controller and is expected to have 3MB of L2 and 6MB of L3 cache. No word on branding or clock speeds as of yet but MPC reports the Phenom II X6 as a possible label.
