We have set up the Gamer Corporation team page for EXTRA LIFE 2010.
If you plan on participating, go to the link above and register. Even if you participated last year, you WILL STILL NEED TO DO THIS. Apparently, this is a different system than 2009. For those that do not know, EXTRA LIFE is a marathon in which you solicit donations and pledge to play games for 24 hours, beginning roughly at 8AM local to your time zone Saturday, October 16th, 2010. If you cannot make it in one stretch, you may make up the time throughout the weekend(it’s on the honor system, of course). The minimum being asked of each participant to raise is 4 donors at $1.00 USD per hour(totaling $96.00 USD), but doubling that contribution nets you an EXTRA LIFE 2010 t-shirt. PLEASE let your fellow gamers know about this charity- it’s a great thing that we can come together around, all while doing something we love.
Also, being able to choose a Children’s Miracle Network hospital in your area to receive your contributions is new this year. Mine will go to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Yours can go local as well.
I am taking my leftover E3 business cards and writing the tiny.cc URL on the back of them along with “Pediatric Cancer Donation” tonight and hitting the neighborhood and workplace very soon. Also, I have made images if needed.
Any others interested are incredibly welcome to join as well by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here’s to hoping that we’ll see YOU on the team.
