Mini-Review: Metro 2033

Genres:

FPS, Action, Adventure, Horror. Some stealth gameplay as well.

Breakdown:

Metro 2033 is an immersive game that feels like a living book. Great sense of adventure and atmosphere. A more linear, (not a bad thing here) story driven S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Fallout 3. Has a good bit of “Survival Horror” as well.

Features:

The guns and gadgets are inventive, but not convoluted.
The game actually makes you feel like you are scavenging, with the way you have to loot fallen enemies. When sneaking, you have to make sure you don’t step on glass and watch for debris, which is a neat addition as well.

Overall:

A rewarding and rich experience.
This is “Game of the Year” material to me and would regard it as one of the most overlooked games of 2010.
